The International Secretariat of Service Civil International is happy to announce opening of the application process for a seminar for intensive exchange of methods, tools and practices in the field of non-formal learning.

Seminar in short
The seminar is the main activity of the project "Share, Experience, Get Inspired! – Enjoy the diversity of non-formal learning tools" aiming at increasing the capacity of 12 European organisations by supporting the professional development and enhancement of the competences of their youth workers in fostering creativity, participation, sharing, cooperation, mutual learning and innovation in the field of non-formal learning.

With this seminar, we intend to provide you – youth workers, trainers, activists, educators – with the opportunity to meet, share tools, learn from one another, establish friendship for future cooperation, while creating a suitable environment for educational innovation, experimenting and improving new tools and methods.

For whom?
The event will take place from 24th until 28th October 2018 in Belgium and will gather 34 participants – youth workers, trainers, activists and educators from 12 European countries – Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland and Turkey.

We believe that the seminar will increase your self-confidence, make your work more efficient by developing your professional competences in the non-formal learning field and also enhance your collaboration networks.

As the ideal participant you should:
– be a youth worker with a strong interest in non-formal learning and its applications; OR/AND be a trainer, educator or/and facilitator working with various target groups such as migrants, refugees and asylum seekers, (young) people with fewer opportunities, minorities, etc.;
– be willing to bring further the results of the seminar, organising a follow-up activity in your home country;
– be a resident in one of the 12 above-mentioned project countries;
– be able to communicate well and work in English;
– with minimum age 18 (no maximum age);
– attend the whole seminar duration (there is no possibility to make exceptions).

When?
The seminar will last 5 days. Arrival is foreseen on Wednesday, 24th October 2018 before 3 p.m. Departure is on Sunday, 28th October 2018 after 1 p.m.

Where?
The event will be held in Belgium. The seminar venue is to be confirmed – it will be most likely in or around Antwerp.

Methods
The working methods used will be highly participatory and will be based on the principles of adult learning, creating a stress-free and motivating environment where the human brain has a full capacity to learn. An important part and special focus will be dedicated to the workshops run by the participants. All the methods will encourage active participation, creativity, initiative, and responsibility for one's own learning process.

Facilitators
The seminar will be facilitated by 2 experienced trainers, founding members of the SCI Pool of Trainers and Facilitators:

Natalie Jivkova, Bulgaria – a passionate facilitator supporting the learning and personal development of youngsters and adults, with experience on national and international level as she has been part of various pools of trainers and facilitators – European Youth Forum, SCI Pool of Trainers and Facilitators, the Development Center for Human Resource (Bulgarian National Agency for Erasmus+ Programme), South East European Youth Network (SEEYN).

Ma?gorzata Tur, Poland – sociologist, trainer and educator, certified member of the Polish Association of NGO Trainers, owner of Pracownia Interakcji training company. She has been active in the training field for more than 18 years, supporting individuals and groups to develop their skills and grow. For the last few years she has been exploring the secrets of neuroscience and visual facilitation, to make her trainings even more effective.

Certificates
You will be awarded with a seminar certificate, issued by Service Civil International, as well as with the Youthpass certificate.

Financial conditions
The food and accommodation of the participants will be fully covered. Reimbursement of the travel tickets will be 100% up to the maximum amounts indicated in the rules of the Erasmus+ Programme after the receipt of original documents. Maximum travel reimbursement amounts: 0-99 km = 0 euro, 100-499 km = 180 euro, 500-1999 km = 275 euro, 2000-2999 km = 360 euro. We encourage you to use environmentally friendly transport (bus, train, car sharing) when possible.

SCI's Travel Policy encourages a carbon offset donation if travelling by plane.
