Cloughjordan Community Farm (CCF) is searching for 1 EVS volunteer to start in June 2015. VSI is the co-ordinating organisation for the EVS projects at CCF and we are helping them recruit volunteers, we will apply at the 4th February deadline.

The volunteer will join another volunteer who is starting in February.  The EVS volunteers’ main focus will be working and learning about organic, biodynamic and sustainable farming and living in the community through hands-on work and learning in the polytunnels and field.  The volunteers will be involved in activities supporting the production of food, promoting sustainable agriculture and rural development as well as activities associated with organising and promoting educational events as well as playing an active role in the organisation of community.

Cloughjordan is Ireland’s only ecovillage, it’s surrounded by 50 acres of beautiful land dedicated to woodland and active food production.  The ecovillage is home to approximately 42 households along with a hostel, a community farm, and a number of non-profit educational enterprises such as Cultivate and Sustainable Projects Ireland Ltd., its varied educational activities and its location within the ecovillage provides a rich service and learning opportunity.  VSI has hosted many projects at CCF including the 2014 Create a Climate for Peace Irish workcamp.

Applicants must be age 18-30 years.

SCI Austria, 

Help out at a World War I memorial museum in Austria with this EVS project.
You will staff the museum, help to digitalise the inventory, work on press releases and the museum’s website, file photos, and keep track of finances, among other tasks. Volunteers will receive €115 spending money per month, and will be accommodated in a local apartment. Participants should be motivated, ideally with an interest in history, and happy to work indoors.
