Ofertes EVS:

Germany, VJF Berlin, from April to September (6 month)
2 volunteers

The volunteers will work as camp leaders for most of VJF’s work and language camps. That includes staying in different locations in Germany with changing international groups for about 2 – 3 weeks for each camp. Later on during the EVS, the volunteers will be able to consolidate their skills and competences during the teamer’s training in the summer and then continue leading different work camps for VJF all over eastern Germany. That will include the preparation of free time activities, the guidance of the camp participants regarding working and organisational issues as well as the communication with project partners, mediation and the financial responsibility of the work camps.

The two volunteers will live together in a house in Berlin Grünau (outskirts of Berlin) at VJF’s seminar and meeting place. He/ She will have his/ her own room, but share a bath room and a kitchen.

Ireland,  Cloughjordan Community Farm (VSI), February 2015 – January 2016 (12 month)

Cloughjordan Community Farm (CCF) based at the Cloughjordan Eco Village in Co. Tipperary is searching for 1 EVS volunteer to start in February 2015. VSI is the co-ordinating organisation for the EVS at CCF and we are helping them recruit a volunteer, we will apply at the 1st October deadline. VSI hosts several youth exchange projects, training seminars and workcamps at the ECO village in Cloughjordan.

The EVS volunteer’s main focus will be working and learning about organic, biodynamic and sustainable farming and living in our community through hands-on work and learning in the polytunnels and field. The volunteer will be involved in activities supporting the production of food, promoting sustainable agriculture and rural development as well as activities associated with organising and promoting educational events as well as playing an active role in the organisation of community.

Cloughjordan is Ireland’s only ecovillage, it’s surrounded by 50 acres of beautiful land dedicated to woodland and active food production. The eco village is home to approximately 42 households along with a hostel, a community farm, and a number of non-profit educational enterprises such as Cultivate and Sustainable Projects Ireland Ltd., its varied educational activities and its location within the ecovillage, provides a rich service and learning opportunity. VSI and CCF have collaborated to host 7 EVS volunteers previously and CCF has hosted many other VSI projects including a Climate for Peace workcamp earlier this year, Youth Exchanges and the VSI AGM in 2012.
